As a response to the outrageous wildfires that took place around the Middle East and Europe this past summer, the Rotaract Mediterranean, Oceania & Europe
MDIOS decided to join forces with the goal to inspire other Rotary / Rotaract Districts, Clubs, and Members to act towards protecting the environment. “MDIOs Unite for the environment” initiative will consist of different virtual events (one each
quarter) wherein each edition a different Environmental Topic will be tackled with an aim to support each time an environmental Rotaract or Rotary Campaign(s) or project(s).

After the success of the first Edition about “”Climate Change”, “Environment Pollution” in our 2nd Edition we will now take on Environmental Sustainability and how it relates to our cultural values and traditions over Zoom on Saturday the 19th of February at 8.30am CET.

What can we learn from our traditions of caretaking of the land and Ocean? How can these guide us in environmental sustainability? How can we pass these values on to the next generation? How can we act?

In this panel 4 Environmental change makers will share the stage to cover the following:

• Share their successful environmental projects stories
• Share lessons and tips learned from their experience
• Advice on how Rotarians and Rotaractors should honor the traditions and learnings that we are taught and how they can relate to environmental sustainability.

The main goal of this panel is to inspire and influence the International crowd of Rotarians and Rotaractors to act effectively toward protecting the environment.
