Vic Grosjean‘s project highlighted in Barry Rassin speech at the United Nations

As one of the six ‘People of Action’ Vic Grosjean received in 2018 the Rotary-UN Young Innovator Award. This award is given to members of Rotary or Rotaract that are up to 35 years old and who contribute significantly to changes in the world.

Vic Grosjean, member of Rotaract Melbourne City, developed by his company Ocean CleanX technologies to monitor the pollution and clean up waterways. In his speech he mentioned the frightening statistics: “Every year there are 8.8 million tons of plastic in the ocean, which ensures continuous need to underwater life. I always wanted to save the oceans. We must stop the pollution at source ‘said Vic, adding that we should start with removing plastic from the country.

Barry Rassin showed in his speech, this Rotary Day at the United Nations on November 10, 2018, more inspired to have fallen to link the knowledge and resources of older Rotarians to the energy and ideas of younger generations: “We see you as equals, as colleagues,” he told the young audience. “You bring your ideas, aspirations and your perspective on global issues on the table. ‘Be the inspiration’, Edition , 1 March 2019, by Janine Klein, on ‘Rotary District 1580 Magazine’, The OceanCleanX project was awarded at the United Nations. It proves that young people should think bigger in order to make the impossible possible.
